A small festival within Sori Festival, “Sori Festival for Children” offers a wide range of programs prepared for families and children. Unique and quality performances from Czech, Polish, and Korean artists will inspire kids’ creativity, imaginative power, and joyfulness. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of experiential programs including an exhibition of logo-design contest for kids.

Sound Experiment of Small Colorful Instruments 

Unique Timbres, Unrefined Beauties

The Polish band “Małe Instrumenty” explores new sounds with a variety of small instruments! The band’s name means “small instruments” in Polish. The instruments used in their sound-explorations range from professional ones and children’s toy instruments to all sorts of props that are not regarded as instruments but can still produce sound. The music they create is beautiful, delicate, and unique in its timbre. Sometimes, less-refined sounds help us find “the charm of the unfinished.”

At the “Sori Festival for Children,” visitors will listen to the sounds of small instruments, make their own instruments, and then create their own music for films with the four members of Małe Instrumenty. The world of small and unique mini-instruments made from everyday materials will offer a unique experience to create one’s own sound!

Małe Instrumenty, founded in 2006 by Paweł Romańczuk, has been exploring new sounds using a variety of small instruments, from toy pianos to handmade tiny cellos. The team has continued their exploration of sound through various musical projects, including film and audio-book-related ones.
