Korea’s First “Grown-type” Traditional Music Audition! Who will Win?

A project to discover traditional musicians who will bring K-culture beyond Korea to the world stage began! This year, the program will be made in collaboration with Jeonju MBC. The three finalists will perform from August 14-16th, and the final stage will be held in August 17th to select the winner among the finalists (Choori Band, GUGAK_E_SANG, Sam San) through the judgement of experts and audiences. Which team will win the 1st “JB Sori Prize (with 10 million Won)?

“GUGAK_E_SANG” Presents a New Take on Traditional Korean Music

“GUGAK_E_SANG” is a group of young traditional artists who enjoy arts within busy and urban space and show exhilarating music and performance. Founded in 2024, the group has been creating new traditional music for the modern era. In particular, the group apperaed on JTBC’s <Pungryudaejang> in 2012 and included in the top 5, conveying the charm and beauty of traditional music to the public. With their unique style, the group are striving to develop traditional music, providing comfort and impression to modern people who are tired of everyday life.
