Chung Kyung-hwa has been recognized as one of the world’s leading musicians who has been pursued her own musical world on the global stage. Her intense musical sensitivity and relentless pursuit toward artistic perfection have earned her high praise from music lovers around the world. Since her winning the Leventritt Competition in 1967, she has performed with world-leading orchestras led by André Previn, Georg Solti, Klaus Tennstedt, Riccardo Muti, Bernard Haitink, Daniel Barenboim, Claudio Abbado, and others. In addition, she has collaborated with Radu Lupu, Christian Zimmermann, Peter Frankl, Cho Sung-jin and Kim Sun-Wook. Since 2011 she has been performing as a duo formant with Kevin Kenner, the second place (without the first prize-winner) of Chopin Competition held in 1990.
Over the past 50 years, Chung has released 33 legendary studio-recordings ranging from concertos to chamber music on leading labels such as Decca, RCA, Deutsche Grammophon, and EMI. She was listed as one of the "Greatest Instrumentalists of the Last 20 Years" by the “Sunday Times” of the UK. Also, in 1995, she was included as the only classical musician in the list of "20 Greatest Asians" by “Asia Week.” In 2017, she was inducted into the Gramophone Hall of Fame in the violinist’s category alongside Fritz Chrysler, Arthur Grumiaux and Nathan Milstein. She toured in Asia in 2013, gave a recital at London’s Royal Festival Hall in 2014, performed at the opening concert of the Verbier Festival in 2016, and performed the complete works of Bach’s unaccompanied Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2017. She received an honorary doctorate from the New England Conservatory in 2015, and currently teaches at the Juilliard School.

부조니, 하마마쓰, 롱-티보 콩쿠르 등에서 입상하며 혜성과 같이 등장한 피아니스트 임동혁은 이후, 퀸 엘리자베스, 쇼팽 콩쿠르, 차이콥스키 콩쿠르 등 세계 3대 콩쿠르를 석권하며 세계적인 주목을 받았다. ‘피아노의 여제’ 마르타 아르헤리치의 추천으로 2001년 최연소의 나이로 클래식 레이블의 명가 EMI를 통해 데뷔 음반을 녹음하였고, 이 음반으로 ‘황금 디아파종 상’을 수상하였다. 2집으로 프랑스의 ‘쇼크 상’을 받았고, 3집 바흐 골드베르크 변주곡 역시 큰 성공을 거두었다. 4집 쇼팽 프렐류드 음반 역시 영국 권위 있는 매거진 그라모폰과 BBC매거진의 극찬을 받았다. 최근 BBC 심포니 오케스트라, 마르타 아르헤리치와 함께 작업한 라흐마니노프 5집을 발매했고, 6집 슈베르트 소나타 음반이 발매되었다.
임동혁은 샤를르 뒤투아가 지휘한 NHK 오케스트라, 정명훈이 이끄는 라디오 프랑스 필하모닉 오케스트라, 유리 테미르카노프의 상트 페테르부르크 필하모닉 오케스트라, 마이클 틸슨 토마스가 지휘하는 샌프란시스코 오케스트라 등 세계 유수의 오케스트라와 협연하였다. 현재 임동혁은 독일 베를린에서 거주 중이다.
