Dissolving Contemporary, Improvisational, and Experimental Genres in Folk Music!

“Piotr Damasiewicz Trio – Into the Roots” is a team co-founded by Piotr Damasiewicz, Zbigniew Kozera and Paweł Szpura. The group became formed with a desire to find an ethnic roots and to explore nature’s ways of expression. The fact that all members have been fascinated by African music and have experienced the African continent has deeply affected their musical communication.

Piotr Damasiewicz's compositions embrace the grammars of jazz, 20th Century’s classical music, folk and contemporary music as well as improvisational and experimental musics with an European-style. He had represented Poland on four international music platforms. In Art Meetings and Melting Pot Laboratory platform, where he participated as the leader, composer and performer, he presented open-minded improvisation through the meet with other art disciplines.

 "Poland Focus" is a special project commemorating the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Poland, in collaboration with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
