Program

Imaginative Inspiration from Recycled Materials Brought to Life

In a story told by an elderly man, his wheelbarrow is filled with recycled objects such as bottles, paper boxes and props that a theater troupe does not use. He brings them to life and uses them to tell his stories. A prince made out of a roll-type toilet paper, a soju-bottle man, and puppets made of plastic and cardboard appear and make their stories, often accompanied by flute sounds.

The troupe <Dungdangae> has been thinking about how to have fun through play well. The group wants to meet the lives of everyone in the world, play with them, and talk openly about the lives that have been left out of the center of the world. Working on various works based on tradition, they produce performances with the foci of historical, street-based, and family drama, and goes wherever there is an audience. The director, Kim Gwangyong, is also active in the scene as an actor as well.
