Freshness through the Blending Traditional and Pop Genres into a Sensuous Fusion style

“Seodo Band” is one of the most actively-appearing young crossover ensembles in the mass mediascape in the 2020s. The band debuted in 2018 through the “21c Korean Music Project, and won the first place at JTBC's TV program “Pungnyu Daejang” in 2021. Since then, the band has been performing not only on TV programs such as KBS “Immortal Songs” but also in other kinds of performances.

Defining their music under the concept of “CHOSUN POP,” the band has manifested that the band pursue to blend traditional musical elements with Western band pop styles. The band has been creating a unique band sound by incorporating traditional Korean vocal techniques, themes, and repertoire into a Western-style band format, which shows a phase in the history of “fusion” music since the second half of the 20th century. The performance at the Sori Festival will be a confrontation to the young and unique energy filled with diverse musical ideas and spectra.
