A Singer-songwriter who Expands Traditional Music in Various Ways

Song Sohee has been pursuing her musical career as a Gyeonggi minyo (folksongs from the Gyeonggi Proivince) singer from her younger years. After learning “Sijo,” she practiced Gyeonggiminyo, and gained widespread public attention through various media platforms. She has since grown into a unique Gyeonggi minyo artist, performing on international stages that represent Korea. She then dedicated herself to studying Western music as well, pursuing continuous musical exploration to create her own unique sound. She has released the contemporary music piece <Cloud-cape Journey: Journey to Utopia> (2022), the single <Infodemics> (2023), and the single *Asurajang* (2023). Most recently, she released the EP <Aerial Dance> (2024) that includes four self-composed tracks and the single *Not a Dream* (2025) which clearly showed her identity as “a contemporary singer-songwriter” to the public. Consistently building her foundation within the realm of traditional music while steadily constructing her own unique world, Song Sohee will continue to expand the scope of her musical spectrum through the sounds and stories she will create. The audience will experience the boundless potential of her musical world at the 2025 Jeonju International Sori Festival.
