Going Home Project
The “Going Home Project” is an orchestra formed by Korean musicians scattered around the world and musicians who consider Korea their second home. In the summer of 2022, the orchestra made its debut with diverse repertoires, including a performance of “Rite of Spring” and a gala concert “Bolero” featuring the orchestra members as soloists, in its inaugural concert. The following year, the ensemble sold out its regular recital titled “New World,” sparking widespread attention. Starting in December of the same year, the ensemble completed a year-long series of “Beethoven’s Complete Symphonies and Overtures,” performing all nine symphonies and twelve overtures by Ludwig van Beethoven. Additionally, with the aim of providing practical support to future generations, the orchestra launched the Going Home Academy and has consistently held concerts and educational programs at a variety of venues, including Sinchon Severance Hospital, the Seoul Youth Music Center, the Education Student Culture Center under the Metropolitan City Office of Busan, the COEX’s Starfield Library, Incheon International Airport, and the Yonsei University College of Music, demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility.
