Master Class
The “2025 Master Class” will be held on August 15 and 16, offering participants the opportunity to learn pansori from renowned pansori singers Lee Nancho and Yoon Jincheol. Lee Nancho, a National Intangible Cultural Heritage holder for pansori “Heungbo-ga,” will teach participants the “Jebinojeonggi (lit. a sparrow's story of journey)” section from “Heungboga.” While the rhythmic pattern of "Jebinojeonggi" is typically “jungjungmori,” Lee Nancho's version uses “jajinmori”, which adds a unique charm to enjoy. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the distinctive rhythm and vocal techniques directly from the master. National Intangible Cultural Heritage Pansori “Jeokbyeok-ga” holder Yun Jincheol will teach the basics that every pansori singer must embody, including proper posture, tone, diction, and singing method. Through the opportunity to learn pansori from two masters who have walked their paths with steadfast dedication, participants will experience the unique charm of Korean traditional music.
