
2012, Songs of Masters
The brand performance by the Jeonju Int'l Sori Festival only. It is the stage that illuminates the lives of the representative master artists who devoted themselves to preservation of Korean traditional arts and artistic soul. In 2012, for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Shin Jaehyo, the festival is going to showcase a creative work based on the Dorihwaga written by Mun Suntae which depicts Shin Jaehyo's life.

Kim Hyeongseok with Friends
A concert in which audience can easily sympathize and enjoy the subtle beauty of the traditional music through close contact with Korean traditional music. Artistic director Kim Hyeongseok and his music partners will showcase an encounter of Korean pop music and traditional music beyond their borders.

Park Jechun <Korean Grip Meets the World>
A consecutive project following the 'Korean Grip' in 2011. With Jechun and Miyeon, Australia's famous drummer Simon Barker, Japan's master shakuhachi (Japanese traditional pipe) artist Akikatz Nakamura, Mongolian traditional heumi (Mongolian traditional vocal) singer and matouqin (Mongolian traditional two-stringed musical instrument) player Sinchu Dorinyam, and flamenco dancer Joaquin Ruiz will present an exhilarating
sound with Korean musical instruments.

Pansori Five Batangs
The stage of the most spotlighted pansori artists such as Song Jaeyoung, Wang Giseok, Chae Sujeong, and Park Bokhee in 2012. They are the essence of Korean sori, and the audience can enjoy them in the old hanok, Hakindang, in Jeonju Hanok Village. All the performances will provide Korean/English subtitles commemorating the completion of translating five batangs of pansori.

Evening for Sanjo
Audience will appreciate beautiful sanjo (literally meaning 'scattered melodies' and is an instrumental solo accompanied by drumming on the janggu) pieces which offer the best quality of improvisation of Korean traditional music in the yard of a hanok. Won Janghyeon, the master bamboo flutist, and Kim Ilgu, the master Ajaeng (a bowed seven-stringed instrument) player will present beautiful melodies.

Sori Frontier with KB Bank
A competition & relay concert for the Korean world music artists. This year again, new and existing bands will compete for the prize of ten million won. Guess whos going to be chosen by judges for the Sori Frontier of the year!
